There are a couple ways to go about getting a show on the air. First we found a production company that believes in our vision and has a passion for what they do. Being in the production business, we know a lot of great companies that would have done a fabulous job for us. But in the end, we felt like God was leading us towards a company called Signal Factory. They are super talented and we are so excited to be working with them! After talking with the guys at Signal Factory, we opted to shoot a "sizzle reel." Basically this is a 3-5 minute video that introduces us, our designs, and our show idea.

After the sizzle reel is edited and perfectly put together, we will send it out and secure meetings with a number of television networks that we have connections with. Our hope is that the video will generate interest in us and the show, and that the meeting will allow us to further explain all that our show has to offer.

After all that, the hope is that one or more networks are interested in paying for a pilot episode. If they are, we would produce an entire show (22 minutes long) which would include us actually going into a home and working with a couple to redo a room/space.

Once the pilot is produced and the network is able to see the full vision of "'Til Design Do Us Part" come to life, they will decide whether they want to buy more episodes.
So, as you can see we still have a number of steps to take, but getting the sizzle reel shot was a huge deal for us! We've been talking about shooting the sizzle for almost 8 months now! That's hard for someone like me who wants things to run at full speed all the time. But, I'm lucky to have Tim that is always reminding me that as long as we are working incredibly hard, we can have peace in that fact that God's timing is perfect. :)
Speaking of Tim, there was some major man love going on yesterday! The Signal Factory guys are totally into Tim's expansive skill set and talents. And really I can't blame them! :) As a matter of fact, I had to snap a few photos of him working in the shop yesterday because he was looking pretty sexy behind that saw! :)

After a morning chalked full of us talking to the camera, we headed over to two of our client's houses to get some testimonial clips. It was such a blessing for Tim and I to hear these two couples talk about how our designs told their stories and inspired them. As I listened to them talk my heart was so happy. It felt like our designs actually had made a difference in their lives. My heart filled with gratitude towards the couples and my God. I love that God not only gives us a passion, but also gives us the opportunity to use that passion for good and to help others.

So we're one step closer to our dream! We're staying positive, continuing to work hard, counting our blessings, and focusing on enjoying the journey! A huge, massive, heartfelt "THANK YOU!!!" to the Taylors and Renfrows for taking the time to do the interviews. We love you guys!!!
See everyone back here tomorrow!
