As you know, I always visit the Anthros and Urbans in the area we're visiting. Generally these are great places to find awesome design, but this time around Urban and Anthro were going through some personnel changes and didn't provide as much inspiration. Luckily, a few other unexpected sources delivered lots of eye candy for me this time around!
As I was walking through downtown St. Louis I ran across a store called “Niche.” It has some beautiful set-ups, cool products, and even some pieces I think could be DIY'd. The overall feel of the store was a chic, contemporary, modern look. The interest was created mostly by lots of texture, sophisticated pops of jewel toned color, and mood lighting.

I was really digging the vibe of the store! I could definitely live in space like this. Here are a few of the pieces I think could be DIY'd. . .
I've seen upholstered tables and even done it a couple of times, but for some reason I still forget how beautiful it can look. You can go simple like these drawer fronts that are wrapped in leather. . .

Or you can go all out and create something truly jaw dropping with a ton of upholstery tacks, like this below.
I was especially in love with a bunch of the pillows that Niche had for sale.
I'm wondering how difficult it would be to create that dyed effect on my own. Add that to my “Experiments to Try” list.
Even the check out counter was unique. I love the look of the end grain wood being repeated across the piece.
This marble table was so refined and I kept wondering if there happened to be a light inside. I think that it would make a gorgeous glowing accent piece.
Lovely store, right!? I felt lucky to have run into it while I was wondering through the streets of downtown St. Louis! If you're in the area, you should definitely check Niche out. They change their set-ups often, so you're bound to be newly inspired every time you enter the door! :)
'Til tomorrow!
